Looks like Photoshop CS3 has issues with Leopard.
On my new 24" iMac, Photoshop runs, but many tools like the Marque selection tool and the Text tool simply don't work; the cursor flickering back and forth between the standard arrow cursor and the tool-specific one, with no "marching ants" selection nor any text entry.
Haven't tried uninstalling because I didn't want to waste the time going through the activation/deactivation process, but I may have to do so, despite this being a fresh CS3 installation, with no third-party plugins installed or involved.
Other CS3 programs like Dreamweaver seem to work just fine, but some developers are reporting issues with Adobe's recently acquired ColdFusion 8 server product.
Apparently the problem has been known by Leopard beta testers since August, but no word yet from Adobe on if or when there's going to be a hotfix.
Looks like Adobe's Leopard Compatibility List [PDF] may be premature.
[UPDATED]
After some experimentation, I found the problem appears to be caused by an interaction with Photoshop and Smile on my Mac's TextExpander system utility. Turn off TextExpander, and Photoshop works just fine.
Odd, because TextExpander is supposed to by Leopard-compatible.
[UPDATED]
I have the exact problem you describe. I've never had TextExpander installed. I installed Leopard with the "upgrade" option, perhaps that had something to do with it? I'll eventually try removing/re-installing. Very annoying.

yeah, I have that same darn problem,
it won't let me work!
can't seem to fix it (nor have I ever known what TextExpander is, and I don't seem to have it on my machine.)
has anyone found a solution for this?

I have exactly the same issue and dont have Text Expander installed. I would be interested in a fix for this as its a pain the arse.

The problem is cause by Photoshop 10.0.1. If you install 10.0.0 the problem goes away.
